A virtually untouched area of the world, we found ourselves in Port Barton, Philippines. This image was taken on our first day of a four-month trip through Asia and Australia. We arrived to Port Barton in the pitch black after roughly ~40 hours of travel - waking up to this paradise was nothing short of humbling.
We spent a week with a private dingy driver who took us to not only some of the most beautiful places we have ever seen, but, being a local to Port Barton, he brought us to his home fisherman village. We spent the day running around with the kids who surrounded us with genuinely the most loving energy I have ever encountered. The parents watched with excitement as their children spoke English to an American for the first time, showing their pride with nothing but humility.
I think about this day often - it was a unique reminder that no one is really a stranger, they are simply new friends awaiting an introduction.
